Interior & Exterior Painting
The finishing touch on every restoration.
What to expect from our Interior & Exterior Painting team
Interior & Exterior Painting in SW Florida
Painting is the final step in restoration β and arguably the most visible. It is the finish that the homeowner sees every day, the surface that guests notice first, and the detail that determines whether a restoration feels βdoneβ or βpatched.β WrightWay Emergency Services provides professional interior and exterior painting as the culminating phase of our restoration and reconstruction services throughout Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Fort Myers, Naples, and all of SW Florida. Our in-house painters specialize in the unique challenges of post-damage painting, including stain sealing, odor blocking, color matching, and texture blending.
Post-Damage Painting Challenges
Painting after water, fire, or mold damage is not the same as repainting a normal room. Restoration painting must address:
- Stain bleeding β water stains, smoke residue, and nicotine migrate through standard primer and paint. Specialized stain-blocking primers (shellac-based for smoke, PVA for new drywall, mold-resistant for moisture areas) are essential to prevent bleed-through.
- Odor sealing β smoke and biological odor molecules embedded in surfaces must be sealed with appropriate primer before topcoat application. Standard latex primer does not block odor migration.
- Color matching β matching existing wall and ceiling colors after partial drywall replacement requires accurate spectrophotometer color analysis, not visual guessing. Even a slight mismatch is visible in natural light.
- Texture blending β new drywall and joint compound absorb paint differently than aged, existing surfaces. Proper priming equalizes absorption so the repair area does not photograph differently from surrounding walls.
- Moisture control β painting over surfaces that are not fully dry traps moisture, leading to peeling, bubbling, and mold growth behind the paint film. We verify moisture levels before any paint is applied.
Interior Painting
- Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinetry
- Stain-blocking and odor-sealing primers for fire and water-damaged surfaces
- Mold-resistant paint formulations for bathrooms, kitchens, and moisture-prone areas
- Precise color matching using spectrophotometer technology
- Multiple finish options β flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss
Exterior Painting
- Stucco, wood siding, Hardie board, trim, and soffit painting
- Pressure washing and surface preparation
- Florida-grade exterior coatings rated for UV, moisture, and salt air resistance
- Elastomeric coatings for stucco crack bridging β particularly valuable on older Sarasota and Bradenton stucco homes
- HOA color compliance β we work within your communityβs approved palette
1. Surface Preparation
Proper prep determines paint longevity. We fill nail holes, sand rough edges, caulk gaps, and repair minor drywall imperfections. For exterior work, surfaces are pressure washed and allowed to dry thoroughly. Loose or peeling paint is scraped and sanded. Lead paint is handled with EPA RRP protocols on pre-1978 homes.
2. Priming
The correct primer is applied based on the substrate and previous damage:
- Shellac-based primer β for smoke, soot, and odor-affected surfaces
- PVA primer β for new drywall and joint compound
- Mold-resistant primer β for areas that experienced mold or moisture
- Bonding primer β for glossy or slick surfaces
3. Color Matching
For partial room painting, we take spectrophotometer readings from existing painted surfaces and have custom colors mixed to match. For full rooms, we work with you to select from the complete palette of any major paint manufacturer.
4. Paint Application
Two coats of quality paint are applied using the appropriate method β brush, roller, or spray β for each surface. Cut lines at ceiling junctions, trim, and fixtures are crisp and straight. Our painters protect all adjacent surfaces, flooring, and fixtures with drop cloths and tape.
5. Inspection
Every painted surface is inspected under natural and artificial light for coverage, consistency, drips, and holidays. Touch-ups are performed before the space is returned to the homeowner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common timing, documentation, and service questions answered in a clearer format so owners and managers can make confident decisions faster.
Yes, and this is one of WrightWay’s greatest advantages. We manage the entire process from emergency mitigation through final reconstruction under one company, which eliminates the delays, miscommunication, and finger-pointing that often occur when homeowners hire separate contractors for each phase. Our seamless approach saves time, reduces stress, and ensures consistent quality from start to finish.
Mitigation refers to the immediate emergency actions taken to stop further damage, such as water extraction, board-up, and structural drying. Restoration, or reconstruction, is the process of repairing and rebuilding the property back to its pre-loss condition, including drywall replacement, painting, flooring installation, and cabinetry. WrightWay handles both phases so your property is returned to the way it looked and felt before the damage occurred.
We make every effort to match your existing materials, including flooring, paint colors, cabinetry styles, countertops, and trim profiles. WrightWay’s reconstruction team sources materials from a wide network of suppliers and uses color-matching technology to achieve the closest possible match. When an exact match is not available, we present comparable options and work with you to select a finish you are happy with.
Reconstruction timelines depend on the scope of damage, material availability, and permit requirements. Minor repairs may be completed in one to two weeks, while full-scale reconstruction of heavily damaged properties can take several months. WrightWay provides a detailed project schedule during the planning phase and assigns a dedicated project manager to keep the job on track and keep you informed of progress.

View Google reviewsI had a very bad leak in my walk-in closet. I was very upset with the water and damage to the ceiling. WrightWay was notified and sent two professional workers Clarence and Csaba to make it right. They explained the work to be done in a very efficient way that I could comprehend, and I had confidence in the repair. It went without problems and completed in a few days without any further stress. They even cleaned up after so I required no work at all on my part. I would recommend these workers and this company to take care of any water damage.
The WrightWay Emergency Services team has been super prompt at getting back to us and coming out to our home following a water intrusion issue in our condo. They have responded and followed-up quickly and made us feel that they really care about remedying our water issue. Theresa called me before 6:30am following the previous evening rainstorm and resulting water leaks. She dispatched mitigation crews immediately who came out within the hour. Izah has been extremely patient and has such a positive attitude. My husband and I are impressed with his professionalism and respect for our home. We highly recommend WrightWay based on their service for us thus far.
I called WrightWay for an estimate on a cleanup job. They came out the next day, gave me the estimate, and did the job the next day. They were prompt, professional, and did a great job on the cleanup. I would recommend this company to anyone. And I will use them again if I need to.
