Restoration Services in Tampa, Florida
Florida's Gulf Coast capital sits on the most storm-surge-vulnerable bay in America — every property needs a restoration plan.
Tampa is the largest city on Florida’s Gulf Coast and the economic hub of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area, with a population exceeding 400,000 and a metro area of over 3 million. The city’s skyline rises along the Hillsborough River, and its waterfront stretches from the historic neighborhoods of Hyde Park and Davis Islands to the bustling Channelside district and the cruise port at Port Tampa Bay. Tampa’s extensive shoreline along Tampa Bay, Hillsborough Bay, and Old Tampa Bay creates severe storm surge exposure : Bayshore Boulevard, the longest continuous sidewalk in the world, routinely floods during king tides and tropical weather, and hurricane modeling consistently identifies the Tampa Bay area as one of the most at-risk metro regions in the United States for catastrophic storm surge.
Storm History and Surge Vulnerability
Hurricane Irma in 2017 pushed Tampa Bay water levels to historic highs, flooding the Bayshore corridor, Davis Islands, and low-lying neighborhoods across South Tampa. Hurricane Ian in 2022 drove damaging surge into the same areas despite making landfall over 100 miles to the south, demonstrating how even distant storms can channel water into Tampa Bay’s funnel-shaped geography. The 2024 hurricane season added fresh concern when storms tracked toward the Tampa Bay area, reinforcing the urgency of storm preparedness and reliable storm damage restoration service. Scientists and emergency managers have warned for decades that a direct hit from a major hurricane could push storm surge of 15 feet or more into downtown Tampa and the surrounding neighborhoods, creating a catastrophic scenario that would require restoration services on a massive scale.
Neighborhood-Specific Risks Across Tampa
Inland neighborhoods face their own water damage challenges. Seminole Heights, Ybor City, and the Westshore business district sit along the Hillsborough River corridor, which is prone to flooding during heavy rainfall events. Tampa’s mix of century-old bungalows in Seminole Heights and Hyde Park, mid-century ranch homes in Westshore and Carrollwood, modern high-rise condominiums in Channelside and Water Street, and the sprawling commercial properties along the Dale Mabry and Kennedy corridors means every restoration project requires a tailored approach. South Tampa’s Bayshore homes face the dual threat of storm surge from the bay and the aging plumbing systems common in homes built from the 1920s through 1960s. Davis Islands, a man-made residential island in Hillsborough Bay, is almost entirely within a FEMA flood zone. Ybor City’s historic cigar factories and brick commercial buildings require specialized restoration techniques when water damage affects their irreplaceable architectural features.

Our Actual Work Record in Tampa
Every number below is a count of real jobs from our project system, not an estimate. Figures as of September 2026.
We have worked in Tampa since 2015. 9 percent of that work has been condominium or association property, which is the split that decides how a loss gets handled here: who owns the drywall, who carries the deductible, and whether the board or the unit owner signs the authorization. The rest is mostly single-family, where the owner makes the call and the claim tends to move faster, but the association work is the part that needs the paperwork discipline.
We have also completed 16 mold remediation projects in Tampa. Crews work out of our Longboat Key office (5390 Gulf of Mexico Dr, Longboat Key), and we hold the licensing to both dry the building and rebuild it in Hillsborough County.

Restoration FAQs for Tampa
Answers for Tampa specifically - response, licensing, permits and how a claim here is handled.
Our dispatch line is answered by a person 24 hours a day, and crews serving Tampa work out of our Longboat Key office at 5390 Gulf of Mexico Dr, Longboat Key. We have handled 81 jobs in Tampa since 2015, 7 of them in the last year. We give you an arrival window on the call rather than a slogan, because the honest answer depends on the hour and on whether a storm has just put the whole county in line at once.
Yes. WrightWay is a licensed Florida building contractor as well as a restoration firm, so the same company that removes wet drywall in Tampa also holds the permit to put the room back. We have completed 26 reconstruction projects in Tampa. In practice this removes the gap most owners hit: the mitigation company leaves, the general contractor bids weeks later, and the claim stalls in between.
We do. Reconstruction in Tampa is permitted through the building department covering Hillsborough County, and the permit is pulled under our contractor license, not subcontracted to whoever is available. Ask any restoration company for their license number before they touch structure: a mitigation-only firm cannot legally rebuild what it tears out, and finding that out after demolition is the expensive way to learn it.
Yes, 16 mold projects in Tampa to date. Florida licenses mold remediation separately from general restoration, and the state also bars the same company from writing the clearance test it grades itself against, which is why an independent assessor is involved on larger jobs. If you are seeing growth after a leak in Tampa, the cause is almost always a moisture source that is still active, and treating the surface without finding it just buys a few weeks.
Yes. We document to the standard adjusters expect, estimate in Xactimate, and bill the carrier directly, so in most Tampa claims you pay your deductible and nothing else. We are not a public adjuster and we do not take assignment of your benefits, so you keep control of the claim and can see every line we submit.
Stop the source if you can reach the shutoff safely, kill power to the affected area at the breaker if water is near outlets, and photograph everything before anything is moved. Then call us. Do not wait for your carrier to authorize work: every Florida policy requires you to prevent further damage, and in Tampa heat and humidity a wet wall cavity can start growing inside about 24 to 48 hours. Delay is the single most expensive decision available to you.
We have three offices, in Nokomis, Longboat Key and Fort Myers, and Tampa is worked from our Longboat Key office. The crews, trucks and drying equipment are ours and the project manager on your job is a WrightWay employee. We have handled 81 jobs in Tampa since 2015, 7 of them in the last year. Anyone can build a page for a city; the fair question to ask a restoration company is what they have finished there, and we would rather publish the count than a claim.

We had the best experience with Wrightway! We had a flooding incident from our AC system that seeped into the walls and under the laminate flooring. They were prompt, professional and did a great job drying out and cleaning up everything for us! We also had them do the repairs and we were 100% impressed with their work! Everyone we came in contact with in the office and into our home were respectful and knowledgeable. They worked with us on a great price! We can't say enough about a great experience during a stressful time! A special shout out to Alicia who was great to work with! Thank you all so much!
Verify on Google →Richie Correa with Wright Way was fantastic. He was punctual, efficient and educated me through the whole process of cleaning and sanitizing our air vents. Answered all my questions and was honest and knowledgeable with over 25 years experience. Highly recommend!
Verify on Google →Had a great experience with Wrightway. 3 weeks ago my townhouse had major water intrusion, wet drywall, and water everywhere. The HOA called them at 3pm and by 5pm the crew was onsite with dryers and tearing out the wet drywall. The techs wore shoe covers, were very professional, and made sure to cover and drape unexposed areas. Fernando the project lead called me every other day to keep me updated on the dry out and remediation. The had infrared moisture meters and some pretty high tech stuff. Fernando coordinated with the exterior work to fix the leak, and the interior drywall replacement. I have heard horror stories about remediation companies ripping people off, but this is absolutely not the case with Wrightway. They turned a horrible situation into nothing more than a mild inconvenience. 5 stars for everyone I came in contact with. Great job
