Storms in Our Backyard

Hurricane Ian (September 2022) made landfall just south of Sarasota County in Charlotte and Lee, but bands of 75-90 mph wind hit Venice, Englewood, and Manasota Key for 12+ hours. We had crews running for 90 days afterward, mostly on roof and water-intrusion claims that bled into mold remediation by month three.

Hurricane Helene (September 2024) drove Gulf surge into Siesta Key, Casey Key, Venice Beach, and South Venice. Some Siesta Key homes that had survived Ian unscathed took five feet of storm surge from Helene. Insurance disputes over whether flood vs wind caused the loss continued through 2025.

Milton (October 2024) was less of a Sarasota County story but rains on top of Helene's saturated ground caused secondary basement and crawl-space flooding throughout Venice and South Sarasota.
