Restoration Services in Placida, Florida
A working waterfront at the top of the Cape Haze peninsula, mapped at a base flood elevation of 9 feet over ground that sits near 3.
Placida sits at the end of the Cape Haze peninsula in Charlotte County, the last stretch of mainland before the Boca Grande Causeway crosses to Gasparilla Island. It is a working waterfront rather than a resort strip: fish houses, marinas, dry storage, canal homes and a growing number of newer builds behind them. That mix matters when something floods, because a 1970s canal house on a slab and a 2021 elevated build a street away need completely different decisions in the first hour.
FEMA maps this part of Placida as Zone AE, coastal floodplain, with a base flood elevation of 9 feet. The ground through the same area runs around 3 feet above sea level. A six-foot gap between where the dirt is and where the water is expected to reach is the entire argument for elevated construction, and it is also why the older at-grade structures here take damage in storms that leave the newer houses next door dry. Anything in a ground-level enclosure, a garage or a storage room under an elevated house should be treated as expendable, because the flood maps already assume it will get wet.
We have run 85 jobs in Placida since 2014, and 26 of them came in the twelve months after Hurricane Ian. What stands out more is the mold share: 16 of those 85 projects, nearly one in five, were mold remediation. That is a high rate, and the cause is not mysterious. Salt air, high humidity year round, and a large number of houses that sit closed up for months while the owners are north. A slow supply-line leak in an empty, warm house is the single most reliable way to turn a small plumbing repair into a remediation project, and Placida has the conditions for it in abundance.
Access is the other practical reality. Placida is at the end of a long peninsula on County Road 775, and everything we bring, drying equipment, dumpsters, materials, comes down that road. When a storm closes it we stage from the north rather than pretending otherwise. Crews here work out of our Nokomis headquarters, which is closer by road than our Fort Myers office despite Placida being at the southern end of the county, and that is why we answer for this area from the north.
If you are on a canal here, know your finished floor elevation before a storm is named, not after. It determines whether you are protecting a house or protecting a garage, and it changes what is worth moving upstairs.
Our Actual Work Record in Placida
Every number below is a count of real jobs from our project system, not an estimate. Figures as of September 2026.
We have worked in Placida since 2014. 12 percent of that work has been condominium or association property, which is the split that decides how a loss gets handled here: who owns the drywall, who carries the deductible, and whether the board or the unit owner signs the authorization. The rest is mostly single-family, where the owner makes the call and the claim tends to move faster, but the association work is the part that needs the paperwork discipline.
We have also completed 16 mold remediation projects in Placida. Crews work out of our Nokomis headquarters (300 Triple Diamond Blvd, Nokomis), and we hold the licensing to both dry the building and rebuild it in Charlotte County.

Restoration FAQs for Placida
Answers for Placida specifically - response, licensing, permits and how a claim here is handled.
Our dispatch line is answered by a person 24 hours a day, and crews serving Placida work out of our Nokomis headquarters at 300 Triple Diamond Blvd, Nokomis. We have handled 85 jobs in Placida since 2014, 5 of them in the last year. We give you an arrival window on the call rather than a slogan, because the honest answer depends on the hour and on whether a storm has just put the whole county in line at once.
Yes. WrightWay is a licensed Florida building contractor as well as a restoration firm, so the same company that removes wet drywall in Placida also holds the permit to put the room back. We have completed 25 reconstruction projects in Placida. In practice this removes the gap most owners hit: the mitigation company leaves, the general contractor bids weeks later, and the claim stalls in between.
We do. Reconstruction in Placida is permitted through the building department covering Charlotte County, and the permit is pulled under our contractor license, not subcontracted to whoever is available. Ask any restoration company for their license number before they touch structure: a mitigation-only firm cannot legally rebuild what it tears out, and finding that out after demolition is the expensive way to learn it.
Yes, 16 mold projects in Placida to date. Florida licenses mold remediation separately from general restoration, and the state also bars the same company from writing the clearance test it grades itself against, which is why an independent assessor is involved on larger jobs. If you are seeing growth after a leak in Placida, the cause is almost always a moisture source that is still active, and treating the surface without finding it just buys a few weeks.
Yes. We document to the standard adjusters expect, estimate in Xactimate, and bill the carrier directly, so in most Placida claims you pay your deductible and nothing else. We are not a public adjuster and we do not take assignment of your benefits, so you keep control of the claim and can see every line we submit.
Stop the source if you can reach the shutoff safely, kill power to the affected area at the breaker if water is near outlets, and photograph everything before anything is moved. Then call us. Do not wait for your carrier to authorize work: every Florida policy requires you to prevent further damage, and in Placida heat and humidity a wet wall cavity can start growing inside about 24 to 48 hours. Delay is the single most expensive decision available to you.
We have three offices, in Nokomis, Longboat Key and Fort Myers, and Placida is worked from our Nokomis headquarters. The crews, trucks and drying equipment are ours and the project manager on your job is a WrightWay employee. We have handled 85 jobs in Placida since 2014, 5 of them in the last year. Anyone can build a page for a city; the fair question to ask a restoration company is what they have finished there, and we would rather publish the count than a claim.

We had the best experience with Wrightway! We had a flooding incident from our AC system that seeped into the walls and under the laminate flooring. They were prompt, professional and did a great job drying out and cleaning up everything for us! We also had them do the repairs and we were 100% impressed with their work! Everyone we came in contact with in the office and into our home were respectful and knowledgeable. They worked with us on a great price! We can't say enough about a great experience during a stressful time! A special shout out to Alicia who was great to work with! Thank you all so much!
Verify on Google →Richie Correa with Wright Way was fantastic. He was punctual, efficient and educated me through the whole process of cleaning and sanitizing our air vents. Answered all my questions and was honest and knowledgeable with over 25 years experience. Highly recommend!
Verify on Google →Had a great experience with Wrightway. 3 weeks ago my townhouse had major water intrusion, wet drywall, and water everywhere. The HOA called them at 3pm and by 5pm the crew was onsite with dryers and tearing out the wet drywall. The techs wore shoe covers, were very professional, and made sure to cover and drape unexposed areas. Fernando the project lead called me every other day to keep me updated on the dry out and remediation. The had infrared moisture meters and some pretty high tech stuff. Fernando coordinated with the exterior work to fix the leak, and the interior drywall replacement. I have heard horror stories about remediation companies ripping people off, but this is absolutely not the case with Wrightway. They turned a horrible situation into nothing more than a mild inconvenience. 5 stars for everyone I came in contact with. Great job
